Drupal Q & A: How do I add an image to a page or story?
Submitted by Danielle.Mickey on Wed, 07/09/2008 - 2:48pmWhile editing a Drupal story or page, you'll undoubtedly reach a point where you want to add an image. There are a few modules that can be used to insert and manage images differently, but I'd like to provide some steps for how to add an image using the image insert module we frequently use in our Drupal websites. Before adding an image, you should have some familiarity with creating and editing a story or page and your images should already be optimized to be the size you want them on the page.
First, begin with editing your page or story.
Migration from Joomla to Drupal Simplified...
Submitted by neil on Sun, 06/22/2008 - 4:41pmFor those interested in migrating from Joomla 1.0.15 to Drupal, there is now a module we're playing with called "Joomla to Drupal" that boasts the following capabilities:
- import Joomla Users
- import Joomla Sections & categories
- import Joomla Contents & Static-contents including images/pictures
I'll keep you posted as we progress on this but it's nice to see a module that is generally available for simplifying the move.
Webmonkey is Back (and they Interviewed Dries about Drupal)
Submitted by neil on Sun, 06/22/2008 - 11:38amBack in the day (all the way back when anything with the letters .com would make you rich), Webmonkey was THE resource for web geekery. They followed the trends and even set some of them. It had great content and was actually an outgrowth of Wired! (then called HotWired!) Magazine. Unfortunately, the site succumbed to the fall of the dot-com world and disappeared for several years. Well....they're back!
Drupal Licensing Made Simple(r)
Submitted by neil on Sat, 06/21/2008 - 9:25pmThe folks on the Drupal board just released a new FAQ that answers many of the Drupal licensing questions that are out there. It's actually a pretty good primer into licensing for open source in general.
One interesting note is that if you use CIVICRM (which several of our sites do), the entire site falls under the Affero General Public License (AGPL) version 3 which requires that visitors to the website be given a copy of the server-side if they request it.
Drupal Gets Some Love From Forrester...

Jing - Killer app for screen capture...
Submitted by neil on Fri, 06/20/2008 - 9:52pmWhile I was at TODCON a couple of weeks ago, one of the presenters introduced me to the Jing Project from TechSmith. Wow! What a gem that find was. There are several really very good screen capture programs for Windows (Captivate, Camtasia, etc.) and a couple for Mac (I use iShowU). However, they've always had one problem, publishing is hard.
Big Addition to the Team - Mike Hoefer
Submitted by neil on Wed, 06/18/2008 - 12:03pmDid you ever meet someone who was just naturally a cultural match for you and your company? Someone who "got it" not because they could mold themselves for an interview, but, rather, someone who was just naturally that way? I've been talking with someone about joining Lucidus for two years and the timing finally worked out, Mike Hoefer. My great news is that Mike will be coming on board starting Monday.
